Sile Singleton has volunteered for Stonewall Columbus Pride since its inception, working every area at one time or another. She is often found Friday nites co-emceeing the main stage and on Saturday afternoon her alter-ego LUSTER brings the acts on and off the Gayzebo stage with a flair only ‘he’ can muster. Her joy for the past 8 years has been as chair/co-chair of the Pride Youth & Family Area. She encourages everyone to come by and just feel the energy in the space — in her opinion, “it is so inspiring to see how far ‘we’ have come!” Happy Pride Everybody! Happy Pride.

My name is Kara, and I am 2nd Chair of the Family Area. I have been a part of Stonewall now for 3 years. I started on the P.I.T crew the first year it was established. I am a cheer mom and have a beautiful 11 year old daughter who is a competition cheerleader. My partner Rebecca, you may know her as Ryder Gently who preformed at Bossy girls, and last year with Teddy Martin, and I have been together now 5 years. When I am not working on Pride I enjoy many things in life. We love to travel, wine tastings, crafts and anything mid evil. I am a closet geek and very proud of it. I enjoy comic cons and making prosthetic for my special fx Halloween makeup. I play the clarinet, and contra bass clarinet. I enjoy experiencing life and living it to the fullest.

Janie Boykin is an ally of our community. She is from NW Ohio and has lived in the Columbus area with her husband Jimmy, her daughter Sabrina (23) and her son Jimmy, Jr. (16) since 2009. She has volunteered with Columbus Pride since 2008 and has positively participated in multiple gay and Pride festivals across the country since 2000.
Janie firmly believes the differences between each of us should not only be accepted, it should be celebrated. “Yes, being an ally and fighting for equality is definitely the right thing to do and is something I pride myself in teaching my children to do. Until every person in the LBGTQ community has the same rights as my husband and I, we will continue to fight and support this wonderful, loving community. It is a privilege and an honor to stand next to each person here at Stonewall, letting them know we are here to support them every step of the way.”
