About the Event:

“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”1

• Police raids,
• arrests,
• child custody suits, and
• being fired from our jobs

paint the pictures of the atrocities that have been imposed on the LGBTQA community in the U.S. As the quote says, if we don’t learn from these events, we’re condemned to repeat them. Here’s an opportunity to learn from our past and use this information to chart a positive direction for your future.

As a part of Columbus PRIDE Month, Stonewall Columbus is honored to have as our guest, Dr. Daniel Rivers, Associate Professor at The Ohio State University. We’re inviting you to attend and participate in Dr. Rivers discussion on LGBTQA history and its importance for all of our future directions. Dr. Rivers is a nationally-recognized professor and author on LGBTQA history. But don’t think that the information he shares will be focused only on the past. Oh, no! It will also contain the kinds of actions and activities that are important to assure your positive future.

Come listen and participate in Dr. River’s thoughts on June 14th at 5:30 PM at the Stonewall Center. To assure that all have an equal opportunity to participate, we’re requesting an RSVP to assure adequate seating and refreshments for the reception that follows.
